Saurabh Netravalkar emerged as USA’s left-arm pace sensation, playing a pivotal role in their thrilling three-wicket victory against Pakistan in the Intercontinental Cup T20 World Cup 2024, which concluded with a nail-biting Super Over.
Born on October 17, 1991, in Mumbai, Netravalkar embarked on a promising cricketing journey early on. He represented the Indian U19 cricket team in the 2010 U19 Cricket World Cup alongside future stars such as K.L. Rahul, Harshal Patel, and Mayank Agarwal, showcasing his talent with nine wickets in the tournament. Notably, he faced formidable opponents like Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam during his cricketing endeavors.

Transitioning to the domestic circuit, Netravalkar played for Mumbai in the prestigious Ranji Trophy before pursuing higher education in the USA. In September 2015, he ventured to Cornell University for a Master’s degree in Computer Science, which led to his List A debut for the USA in 2018.
Netravalkar’s leadership qualities came to the fore when he was appointed captain during the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two, where the USA secured ODI status, marking a historic milestone in their cricketing journey.

In the recent clash against Pakistan, Netravalkar showcased his prowess with the ball, opting to bowl first and making early breakthroughs by dismissing Mohammad Rizwan and later trapping the dangerous Ifthikar Ahmed lbw. His impressive figures of 2/18 in four overs laid the groundwork for the USA’s success.
During the crucial Super Over, Netravalkar demonstrated nerves of steel, defending 18 runs and claiming Ifthikar’s wicket once again, sealing a memorable victory for the USA.
Beyond cricket, Netravalkar leads a multifaceted life, serving as a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Oracle, and indulging in hobbies like playing the ukulele and singing.
