The top teams are advancing to the highly anticipated knockout stages with the First Round wrapping up. But what happens if rain disrupts these crucial games?

Reserve Days For Knockout Matches
Indeed, reserve days exist, but they are only allotted for the June 26 first semi-final and the June 29 final. Unfortunately, the second Semi-Final on June 27 doesn’t have a reserve day due to the tight schedule. Instead, an additional 250 minutes have been set aside to ensure the match can be completed if rain causes delays.
The first Semi-Final also has an extra 60 minutes on the scheduled day and 190 minutes on its reserve day. Similarly, the Final has 190 minutes of additional time on both its scheduled and reserved days.
What Happens If Matches Move To Reserve Days?
Imagine a scenario where a full 20-over match is interrupted by rain after 11 overs. If the overs are revised to 15 per side and rain halts play before the revised match resumes, the game will restart with 20 overs per side on the reserve day.
However, if the match resumes under the revised 15-over format and then rain stops play again, the match will continue with 15 overs per side on the reserve day.
Minimum Overs Requirement For Knockout Games
According to the ICC’s playing conditions, both teams must have the chance to bat for at least 10 overs for a result to be determined in the knockout stages. If this minimum is not met on the scheduled day, the reserve day will be used to complete the game.
What If The Semi-Finals Or Final Are Abandoned?
If rain causes the Semi-Finals and the Final to be abandoned on both the scheduled and reserve days, the teams that topped the Super 8 groups will advance to the final. Both finalists will be crowned joint victors if the Final is abandoned.
